Week 15 -- Cool Experiences

Sorry don't have tons of time this week. But I had a cool experience last week. This lady was staring down our nametags so I just said "kennen Sie diese Kirche" anyways we got talking and she actually just lost her husband to cancer. We were just teaching here a tiny bit of the plan of salvation and that we know she will see him again. We talked for like 15 minutes with her about all of it. Then at the end I just tried one more time. I just testified of the book of Mormon and that I have no idea what she's going through but that I know the power in the BOM and that it can help her. The spirit was so so strong and then she just said nah and got off. Lol. I guess it just shows like in 2 Nephi 33 you you can speak with the holy ghost but it will only he carried unto their hearts. It's up to them to let it in or not.

way cool experience with this inactive family. they have been not coming for at least a year now. And I just had a question come into my mind when we were teaching them and so I tried in my little baby German to ask them like what got them into the church. Like what is the one thing their testimony is strong on. And she said that he's always there for us. Then she started crying and said I just realized that he was there for us through all the hard times. And like we just told them to build on what they have. She said that she use to have a testimony but it just went away and that's why they don't come because they lost their testimonies so how do they build on them? All the missionaries have told them to but they don't know how. we just invited them to start praying and reading again and to do the simple things. It's so so important for us to do the little things or it's easy just to forget and lost our testimonies.

We also have met like 6 Spanish people this week. I guess I should have listened better in Spanish class so I can actually communicate with them. But thankfully we have a couple in our ward that can speak Spanish. We are going to have them call all of them and try to set up appointments. We also are going to be singing in Spanish this weekend for a baptism. Pray for us hahah.

Here's a cute German girl Mia. She was like you don't speak German? Hahaha but the next time I saw her she said it was better. So I guess I am improving a little bit.

Thank you for the emails. Hope you all have a good week!

Week 14 -- Elder Uchtdorf speaks to our mission

So yes. Elder Uchtdorf and his cute wife Harriet came. And yes they spoke in German. First thing they said was "sprechen sie alle deutsch?" I actually got a lot out of their talks but maybe I was just making it up in my head pretending like I knew what they said. Pretty much a miracle. It was so cool hearing them speak in their native language. And actually being able to understand.  It was really cool. He didn't say anything just out of the ordinary but like everything he said was just really good. I don't have my notes with me. But it was really cool he just talked about how we are the extent of the prophet. And that people around the world in all the temple and churches are praying for you the missionaries. And that he and the apostles and the prophet pray for us every day. And that 20000 people are baptized to our church every month. The conference center fits 20000 people. That is our work. We are a part of that even if we don't get that many here in Germany.  Oh he also talked about calling missionaries. He talked about the process and talked about how we each got personally called by a prophet to come to serve here in Germany.

At the end, they were so cute and just stood at the stand and were like it's just so hard to leave. And Harriet is so cute. She really is so full of love. After they talked they just both stood at the stand and looked out at us and were like awh it is so hard to leave. Then they like walked out and I was the last missionary before they walked out the door and she just put her arm around me and was like wow. I love this place. Its were I grew up

Me and sister Linebaugh ended up accidentally missing our train which cost like 300 euro...oops. But at least we got to go finding in Frankfurt for a little bit while we waited for the tech elders to buy us another one.

Everyone here in Germany loves their dogs. It's so funny because you can take them everywhere. So in the stores, in the busses and trains, everywhere you go people are bringing their dogs with.

We went back to this lady's house this week that we doored a couple weeks ago. She was the one that let us in to her house because we had such positive energy she could feel. So we decided to drop by because we were in the area. Turns out she was having bible study with the Jehovah Witnesses. We came up to her door and she was like to the JWs "look how beautiful they are" and the JWs rolled their eyes and said yeah way too young. Haha we had to drop her cuz she likes them more...

I promise we are actually teaching people. Just too many to write about(; I'll let you know once we get a baptism tho. And the miracle is that members are teaching with us. Thank you for all the prayers. They are greatly appreciated

Week 13 -- So Much Haribo Candy...

I am doing really good here. It's rained every day this week so it's kind of fun. The German is coming. This week I felt like I could speak a little better but then I felt like I could not understand anything. I hope it will just come. But I love it here and love my companion.  I tell people here always that I have a twin serving in Hong Kong and they are like whaaaaat.  Everyone thinks me and my comp are twins. She thinks it's funny cuz I actually have a twin. Lol

I Love it here. It's kind of cool I get to live in a place that I just never knew. The language is so hard but it's coming and I'm excited for when I can actually speak and understand. The most fav thing I eat here is probably just all the treats. They have so much Haribo candy here and it's all so good. Also all the breads and the ice cream here is so good. I think my most fav is the chocolate crasaunts. I literally eat so much. I actually have gained like 5 pounds for real.

It's crazy how different it is here. You see little kids that are like 6 years olds here on the bus by themselves. They just walk on buy their ticket and sit down on the bus. I'm 19 years old and I was like scared to ride the busses for the first week when I got here...

This week has been raining a lot. I feel like I am really in Germany now. Literally everyday it is fine then 2 seconds later it is pouring.

This week we had a card miracle. Usually you only give out a card to people after they reject you. So this girl we gave a card to ended up texting us 2 weeks later because she felt like she should. We have now met with her a couple times and she is coming to church on Sunday. Her name is s---  and we are really excited about her. The work is slowly coming but we are having so many appointments now. We also are getting in with the members as much as possible. We have seen so many miracles.

Also Elder Uchtdorf is coming to our mission! So everyone please pray he speaks in English so I can actually understand hahaha.

Sorry for the short email. Thanks for all the prayers!
