Week 29 -- 3 Baptisms

This week was probably the best, weirdest, most awkward, but amazing week of my mission. This weekend we saw three baptisms in Solingen. Here's how the baptism went. Showed up and the programs weren't even made yet...So I was running around everywhere trying to get people to do prayers and find out everyones names(without asking them of course because I should know their names by now)  But cute Celine was like way late. The Germans were freaking out because they are so punctual.
So then bishop stands up to start it so I have to be like umm no not yet...So awkward. Then everyone just sung weird German Christmas songs that no one knew till she finally got there 40 minutes late. So we started and one of our friends of the church said the prayer. And only said one thing then said amen. Then ends with ya I know it was short and walks off. Then me and weak had to give a talk. I have no idea what I said so hopefully that means it was the spirit talking not me. Then there was a musical number and it was so bad. The poor girl just played all the wrong keys. I just prayed they would feel the spirit and I loved over and they were all crying so something went right i guess. Then they all got baptized. Gabriella came out crying, Celine came out and gave everyone two thumbs up and Alex picked his wedgie as he walked out lol. Amazing.
Going out for lunch with our district on pday
Also for Christmas we ate these huge things that I swear were literally boogers. It's actually called Knödel. I would not suggest feeding that to missionaries.

Anyway somehow got to talk to my cute fam even tho no busses wanted to come. It was pretty much just like being home again. Did some fortnite dances with the little bros. Lots of double chins. Burped and my whole fam clapped for me. Ellie told us all her crazy food stories in China. Mine weren't as crazy so had to made them funny so they were comparable. Got to see Spencer's big fat feet. Tanner is trying to be like me by growing his hair out.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Also got some dope Onezies for Christmas. Thanks for the prayers and letters and emails

Week 28 -- Merry Christmas

Cass said they look like they have "cats" around their necks...but it keeps them warm...and everyone wears them

Sorry I promise next week it will be better. Remember to slow down and think about the real meaning behind Christmas. MERRY Christmas everyone

Email from Sister Weakley...her companion comes through again:

So yes!! It snowed!!! We woke up Sunday morning and looked out the window and everything was white! It really made it feel like Christmas! Every morning we sprint to the bus station because no matter how hard we try we can never leave the house early enough to not run as fast as we can to the bus stop! We've only missed it once... but we still blasted down the block to catch it!!  the morning it snowed... wasn't any different so trying to run on snow with wet roads... and slippery boots.... not a good idea... needless to say we made it to church with soaking wet hair dripping name tags and some white stuff on our tights... (oops). But it was beautiful!
This week we also had to reschedule the baptism for this weekend! So it will be a great weekend!!! And it's my nephews 1st birthday so we are having a celebration here too for him! Haha!

German Christmas parties are seriously the weirdest thing ever!! I have no words to explain it but wow!! The culture is amazing! And so different we couldn't help but laugh the entire time!
Also on Sunday we had an American family come to church so guess who translated the entire sacrament meeting!! It seriously was a miracle because our stake presidency spoke and they are the fastest talking Germans here! Seriously!! Miracles of the spirit!

I love being a missionary, even though sometimes it's harder than hard!! But I love being here at this special time of year, able to help God's children learn the reason for the special season! Which doesn't rhyme nearly as good in German...! Haha! But the meaning is still the same!
I challenge all of you to watch the gift video on lds.org and take a special time to use the very special gift given to you from your Father in Heaven! Jesus Christ is the greatest gift and I hope you all take a chance to give that gift to someone this season who may not know that gift is theirs too!!! Thank you for the prayers and have a Very Merry CHRISTmas!

Week 27 -- Stepped in dog poop

Hey everyone don't have a lot of time but things are going good. There isn't a day that we don't see miracles

I added her companion Sister Weakley's email because Cassidy's is so short today.
They have 3 baptisms on date and she was asking for prayers on their behalf that the baptisms will be able to happen and be life changing for their investigators.

Sister Weakley's email:

This week was one for the humor books!!!! Seriously! I laughed so much this week!! First of all... story time!

We were walking to a potentials house and as we are walking I hear sister Clegg say Noooo(whines a little)ooooo!!! I turn around to see a big ol' turd skid across the ground... she looks up in pure disgust and anger... Hahaha! Needless to say we spent the rest of the 15 min walk stepping in every single puddle and every patch of grass trying to wipe the poop off!! It was hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing!! But the person wasn't home anyway so that didn't help... Clegg was just bummed! Haha  Also we ran with our Christmas tree across the city so that was fun!!! I bet we looked like the stooges running around like lunatics! Haha! I hope some people got some laughs cause we sure did!

Also on a more spiritual note... We have a baptism this Saturday! One of God's children is entering the waters of baptism and we couldn't be more excited!! Everybody say some prayers for Alex up in here!! We are pretty excited to clean out the nasty spiders chillin in the font and keep 'em out for good!

Miracles are happening in our little town of solingen! I invite you all to look at the light the world on lds.org or the app! There are so many ways to light your part of the world! I invite all of you to accept that challenge and let your light shine!! Where ever you are! God needs your light and will hold you up if you share your light!

Week 26 -- My German can't back up my sass!

Came into a "dead" area and now we have 3 baptisms this month. There is nothing that a faith can't do.

This week we have been going around and sharing the light the world video and inviting others to give as Christ gave and serve someone this week. Sometimes the street contacting is rough but then you get to watch the video. And every time you can just feel the spirit and see the light it brings into the person you show it to. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of the savior and what he did for all of us. And I couldn't be happier to be here in Germany trying to share it with the baby German I have. Also on a side note it really is good that my german can't back up my sass sometimes. It really makes me more christlike lol. Remember to give as Christ gave this week. Thanks for all the prayers

This is us skating around the ice rink in Köln. Only biffed it twice. Also the last picture is us carrying a tree all around Germany. We literally missed our bus cuz our train was late and had to run with it for 20 minutes because we were late to our appointment. Haha anything for the Christmas tree right?

Sister Weakleys' email:

This week was full of miracles!! We have 3 people on date for baptism... And this area was dead!!!! I told myself that there is no such thing as a dead area! And we are seeing miracles Because of that mindset! Don't ever let expectations change you... just change the expectations!!! Miracles!!!!
Also, my German is improving so much that I have confronted 2 people this week that were talking bad about us... And saying that we come here from america and don't even speak German... And want everyone to speak English to us and that we don't even know what we are talking about because we are teenagers... which would be completely true if we weren't called of God! Because I know I am called of God I talked to them in german and proved them wrong... it was the best thing ever!! I was so happy!! It was a real good boat of confidence... but seriously... so many people talk about us.. hahaha at least they know who we are, sometimes.
Today we went ice skating. It was so much fun! Sometimes it still blows my mind that I am in Germany! It's so beautiful and it was so fun!! We even contacted a family that was deaf... I was signing to them for a while and it was awesome! They were from america so that was awesome!!!!!
We have so many miracles coming from heaven! The heavens are never closed! Have faith and God will show you they are open and just overflowing to the faithful children of God!
Thanks for the love and prayers! We are having them answered all over the place!
Please remember to do your part and light the world!! This is an amazing chance to share the light of Christ and increase your faith! I love you all!
