Week 42 -- New Companion

Don't have too much time but sent another comp home. My now comp is sister Christensen. She's pretty fresh on the mission so we about to get lots of German help from the lord😂

This week we were suppose to go to a members house after church. After like 50 set backs we felt like we needed to go dooring so instead of going over we had them drop us off at this area we've been meaning to door. Comes to find out we had just been there earlier this week but couldn't find the person we went to visit. God sent us there twice so we knew there had to be someone. Ends up dooring the whole place with the usual stuff happening. Doors getting slammed in our face. Then the classic last floor last door this guy let us up. We told him about what we are doing and he said no way come in. We asked if anyone was there and he lived alone. We told him we weren't really allowed to come in. He said yo no problem let me just grab my jacket and shoes and we can walk outside and talk. Ends up teaching the first lesson and he loved it and were meeting with him again.

Got thrown into a dritt for a quick sec. That the new comp sister Christensen.
When I got another blonde comp one of the members said "that's good now you won't lose any of your investigators" lol

Week 41 -- Bratwurst

Had a cool teaching experience. Was late getting home but felt like we should stop this lady. We totally taught the whole first lesson and it was one of those moments where it feels like the whole world stops. She just loved it and listened. She was one of those people you just felt you knew before. It's cool to know in those moments you are at the right place in the right time.

Don't have any time but here's some pics.
There is sister Andrew with a bratwurst. We walk past it like 5 times a day and she literally thought it was a banana lol.

We had to move our baptism to next month because the ward wasn't tryna support us on the 30th lol.

Also pictured is the DI couch I've been trying to get sister Andrew to throw out for the whole transfer. It has a couple of years worth of sisters hair on it.

Then the cute fraus that we attempt to teach German to. They pretty much know more than me so.

Sis Andrew is about to go home. We're about to see who gets to be with me 24/7😂 everyone pray.

Week 40 -- Fish

If your wondering these are the cookies. Also I found out why there are so many fish. Apparently the guy named Kaiser Barbossa went fishing and caught a 20 meter fish and fed it to everyone that lived here I ktown. Haha so I guess that's why it's the down pet.

Tony is doing good. We told him our goals for the week and that we are trying to get 4 people to church. He's like no way I gotta help you meet your goal. He literally invited 4 people😂. Everyday he tells us all his missionary experiences. I guess that's the goal is to get the members to do our work.

Thanks for all the prayers

Week 39 -- Peanut Butter Cookies

This week Tony got baptized. This guy is such a legend. He is already getting all his friends to come to church and setting goals to baptize them lol. He told us that since he got baptized he has been getting attacked and that this one dude was yelling at him and saying how dumb he is and that he could have just baptized him in the bathtub. Tony said first off you don't even have the authority to do that. Hahaha amazing. So cool to see how much joy the gospel has brought him and that he just wants to share it with everyone around him.

Also side note for the baptism. Me and sister Andrew got up and made the best peanut butter cookies for the baptism. Well turns out we look at the clock and it's 2 minutes till the bus comes and we are still on floor 7 in our apartment and about a block away. So I grab the cookies and towel and baptism clothes and we are sprinting and all the sudden the tinfoil goes flying off of the cookies. Then like 30 cookies go with it. There were only 6 on the plate. So we just hurried and picked them all up and somehow made our bus and still gave the cookies to everyone. I have to say they were pretty day good. One I ate had a couple tiny rocks in them so hopefully mine was the only one lol. Makes you wonder what happens to the food other people serve you hahaha. Oops.

There are like a thousand fish everywhere. All over Ktown. I guess it's the city pet

Week 38 -- Baptism

This week we got to be a part of a part member family baptism. We've been teaching the family and the elders have been teaching the dad. I had cute Ella at my side the whole time. She was really nervous to get baptized because all the people there so we said a little prayer together and I told her the story about my baptism and how all I remember is that I was nervous and then when I got baptized I just felt so warm and wanted to do it again. We accidentally couldn't figure out how to make the water warm and after she said even tho the water was cold she still felt warm like me until she got out and was freezing Hahah. She's so cute. I'm so so happy for this family. Something I'm never going to forget.

Also this week we were trying to talk to this guy about God then this drunk soccer fan gets on and is singing the soccer chant for the team and dancing around falling on everyone lol. But he was literally screaming and singing. We were just in the corner tryna talk about God. Haha all good stuff

Also have this investigator named Pascal. He shows up to our appointment and brings us pizza from his work then we just ate pizza and talked about Christ. Then we asked him to be baptized. Guess what. He's getting baptized this month. So hyped. Everyone pray for him.

God is good and has given us the sun this week. Pay for me to feel like there is sun even when it's alright grey for this next week Hahah

Week 37 -- YAY a weekly letter!

We had a way cool miracle happen. So we've been praying the whole transfer to bump into this new convert dude that we have no contact with. Literally the day before sister Clawson left we were in the train. When we went to get off the doors we wanted to get through were broken so we had to go to the other door to get out. As we were walking out the new convert dude walked in. We got to say what's up real quick and meet him. 2 days after sister Clawson left we were able to spot him out right before an appointment we literally ran through like 50 people trying to catch up but then walk by all casually and be like oh hey didn't see you there hahaha. Accidentally missed out appointment but worth it cuz we got to talk to him. And he ended up coming to church on sunday. Asked if he has been reading the BOM and he said not for the past week because he slyly left it at his families house hoping they would be like hey what's this and open it. Haha so cute

Also apparently sister Andrews dad is Andy off of the office. Not literally but his character is based off of her dad. And she just decided to say this. Not sure why she didn't start off with that cuz that would have been a good way to hit it off lol.

Also not as bad as my sister in Hong Kong but we were teaching this lady and she was telling us about these amazing fruits she ate and we told her we love fruit and she was like oh let me check if I have some from the summer. Then she's like oh I have an apple left and pulls out a rotten apple and cuts it up for us hahahha. We eat it and smile cuz were missionaries and that's what Christ would do. Lol good stuff.

We now get to call our families. It's about time cuz I've been doing that for my whole mission now haha. I'm sure all the mom's are going crazy. Anyway sorry I haven't written an email in a month now

Week 33 -- George Foreman Grill

This week the most amazing thing happened. Remember that episode on the office? Where Michael grills his foot? Well we found a George Foreman grill in our apartment lol. Probably the highlight of the week.

Also taught one of our Chinese friends and we taught him who God is for the first time in his life. After explaining how he knows us and he's always there he said umm always? And we said yes. Our friend said what about in the shower? Hahahaha so dang cute. We taught him to pray for the first time and it was probably the sweetest thing I have ever experienced.

Somehow we ended up getting into a bus crash. We were just driving along and all the sudden the loudest noise happened and all the sudden me and Sister Andrew flew 10 feet across the isle into this tiny Turk grandma cruising around in her walker. Pretty sure I got a contusion from sister Andrews knee jabbing into my thigh. But we were blessed I think. Probably just going to sit down on every bus now.

Also a quote from my legend grandpa made it all the way to my little branch in Germany. I was listening in Sunday school and what I was hearing sounded way familiar and I looked up and saw the guy had translated a quote from my grandpa into German and shared it with everyone. Small world.

Heidelberg
The cute fraus we teach German to. Which most the time sister Andrew is teaching and I'm actually learning too lol.
And us crusing in a suburban from the 70s
