Week 77 -- Good Times

My last Sunday. I got up to give my last words and told the congregation that I got my transfer calls and I'm being transferred to Utah.   They all laughed. I guess they have never heard a joke from the pulpit before.

Here we are. 18 months later filled with memories. Hard times. Good times. Laughs and cries. Brokenness and weakness only to be built back up stronger. Sounds dumb but it really has been the best 18 months of my life.

My mission report is on the 29th at 10:30. I'd love to see you all there

Week 68 -- Straight Grey

Hey I'm back again. This past week has definitely been the classic Germany weather. I swear I have not seen the sun. Straight grey. Non stop rain.

This week we had a way cool experience. I was on a split in Mainz and our appointment fell through and stuff so we decided to go by on a less active family that was where we already were. This cute mom had 20 minutes before she worked. She wanted to chat. Then she started opening up. About her family that is not a complete family. About her kids. How she is at such a low place that she can't even help them. That she can't quite understand God's plan and how she's supposed to be happy. She doesn't want to come to church with everyone who is happy. I got to tell her about the Christ I know. And that he suffered for her. That he knows her pain and her darkness but that he can take it from her. That she can have hope and light again. She then said that she was going to start reading the Book of Mormon every day. It was one of those that I knew I was right there at the right time. That there was nowhere else I wanted to be. It's crazy the love you feel for people that you have never even met. So much that you cry with them.

Anyway. Hope you guys have a good week
Sister Clegg

Week 67 -- It's Been Awhile

My great uncle emailed me and thought that I had taken him off my email list cuz he hadn't gotten any emailsπŸ˜‚
sorry guys, way bad at these things. It's been a while. For an update, I am still here in Frankfurt. I sent sister Grijalva home and my new companion is sister Konietz. She's German. I guess God just really wants me to learn to love this German culture or somethingπŸ˜‚

We've had some way cool experiences lately. The temple literally brings miracles. I was on a split in Friedrichsdorf (where the temple is) and we got a temple referral. This dude is the most prepared dude I've ever met. He loves Christ and the book of Mormon and shared his cute testimony with us about knowing it's true. Then told us how he just wants to follow Christ. We prayed in that moment to know when he should get baptized. He's getting baptized this month

We had a conference with someone from the 70. Elder Kopischke. He talked about completing families on both sides of the veil. So We've been going into our dinner appointments and when we are just chatting we just ask the right questions to find out about there families and who is members or not or not really coming anymore. By the end we are able to invite them to pray with whoever it is that could use the most prayers maybe to be able to see the light again or feel gods love again. I know when people pray for me and my family it means the world to me, and that is how it's been for these people too. Other than my prayer list getting really long we've gotten to see miracles with the people they love. I keep learning over and over the power of prayer.

Love you guys.

Sister Clegg

From her comp, Sister Konietz letter:
Something Sister Clegg and I have been doing is that each evening we message a member and ask if their family could pray for us to see miracles the following day and then in the evening we send them a message of what happened that day. It has been so much fun doing this! The members really are amazing and I love telling them at the end of the day of the miracles. It really has helped us get to know the members more and build up a better relationship with them. Also we have seen so many miracles since we started this that it just makes me so thankful for prayer. Prayer is really just amazing!

Week 60 -- Transferred to FRANKFURT

Yo. Sorry it's been a while. After just having 3 months in Dortmund I got transferred to Frankfurt. I said a lot of what felt like empty goodbyes because the time there was just too short. But I know I was there to serve with cute sister Misiego. I learned so much from that girl. It's only okay that I had to move to Frankfurt because she will come study here so we will still see each other.

Said a hard goodbye to my best friend Yue. She moved here from China to study. She has come to get to know God. Who he really is. That she is a literal child of God. She loved it so much that she brought 2 of her roommates to church with her. Not just her roommates but also a classmate to one of our lessons. Her and her cute roommates made us dinner the night before I left. They wanted me to have a taste of China. So they spent the whole day going to different Asian shops to get all the ingredients and then to cook for 3 hours. It was amazing. We all sat around this little table on the ground, eating this amazing Chinese food, with chopsticks of course, and talking about god. My best eating appointment by far. I love seeing the power that comes when someone learns that God is there and that we are his children.

My new companion's name is sister Grijalva. She is from Guatemala. I can't get a break from these awesome Spanish sisters hahaha. I guess maybe I should start learning Spanish now. Thanks for all the prayers and support

Week 56 -- It's 100°

So much has happened! This week we lowkey stole the elders investigator cuz she just loves us so much...oops.

anyway she's from China and just the cutest thing I've ever seen. She came to church for the first time in her life without knowing anything really and I was able to pull up some of the things they were talking about in Chinese so that she could understand better. In the class we read one of my all time favorite scriptures. We read alma 7:11-13.

I pulled it up and explained to her that Jesus is our older brother and that he came here to save us and to give us a way to be able to live with God again.
She read the scripture a couple of times and then turns to me and taps me on the arm and says I have a question....
and then she asked me so sincerely why would he do that?
I said because he loves us.
Then with tears in her eyes she said well that's a good reason.
So cute. How much joy the truths of the gospel bring is unreal.

Also pray I don't pass away. It's 100° and there is no such thing as a.c. hereπŸ˜‚ got stuck in a train for 5 hours with broken AC...Hahah love public transportation

Week 54 -- Miracles

Our ward mission leader hooked it up and got the ward doing a 40 day fast for us. So every day of the week we have one of the members fasting for us missionaries. We have seen so many miracles because of it. The power of prayer and fast is crazy.

This week we had one of the most spiritual lessons of my mission. We had this cute YSA meet with us and our friend Michael in McDonald's. It was one of those moments where you see the power of God preparing people years before to meet with you and prepared me years before to be in Germany in that moment. Sorry, it's short. Thank you for the prayers.
